Our greatest satisfaction comes from the fact that many of our existing clients started out with as us as children and that they still prefer to make the trip to our Lakeview Shopping Centre location to visit us and to let us take care of their dental needs! Health & Safety

We are proud of our sterilization and infection control procedures and we take them very seriously. At Lakeview Dental your health and safety are important to us.

Many of our patients ask us questions about our sterilization procedures. Considering the ever-increasing number of contagious diseases in the news today, this is an understandable concern. You can rest assured that your health and safety are one of our primary concerns. The guidelines for sterilization and infection control in dentistry are called "Universal Precautions". We follow these guidelines for every one of our patients. The following are some of the methods we employ to assure your safety:

1. Autoclave (pressurized steam): All dental instruments are sterilized in a high-pressure steam autoclave. We also sterilize all hand pieces (drills) and burs (drill bits) after each use. This process is the standard of care. Our new computerized autoclave informs us in the event of an incomplete sterilization cycle. As an added assurance we also employ an outside testing agency to ensure that our autoclave is producing sterile instruments.
2. Chemical Sterilization: Many of the items we use (plastics) are unable to tolerate the heat produced by steam sterilization. These items are sterilized in chemical solutions, which destroy both bacteria and viruses.
3. Surface Decontamination: All surfaces including countertops, dental chairs, stools, light handles, and control buttons are disinfected with chemical solutions. These solutions are formulated to eliminate infectious bacteria and viruses that could otherwise proliferate on these surfaces.
4. Disposable Items: Many of the items we use today are discarded after a single use. These items include saliva ejectors, high speed suction tips, drinking cups, rubber cleaning cups, patient bibs, tray covers, sterilization bags, mixing pads, mixing tips, anesthetic carpules, and needle tips. Gloves and masks are also discarded after each use.

Insurance & Finances

The staff at Lakeview Dental Centre is pleased that you have insurance benefits to help with the cost of your dental care. We would like to help you obtain the maximum use of these benefits so please contact us at (403) 242-5900 for a complimentary consultation to discuss your dental needs and to determine your insurance benefits coverage.

Payment is expected at the day of service. We offer several payment options for your convenience:

• Cash 
• Credit Card: Visa, MasterCard
• Interact Direct Payment

We file most insurance claims for you and reimbursement will be assigned to the office. Please bring your insurance information with you. We will work with you to ensure that you receive the maximum benefits to which you are entitled. Remember, dental insurance is intended to cover some, but not all of the cost of your dental care. Reimbursement amounts are not, and never have been, a guideline for quality care.

Appointment/Office Policies

We, at Lakeview Dental believe that clarity is the key to a good and respectful relationship. In an effort to ensure your appointments are as pleasant and predictable as possible, we would like to give you an overview of our office policies. Please feel free to call us with any questions you may have.

Due to the Canadian Personal Privacy Act, we are unable to access any sufficient information from your insurance company regarding your dental plan. It is your responsibility to know the details involved in your plan such as annual maximums, frequencies, and any other limitations. We will gladly help you however to avoid any patient portion discrepancies. To do this we recommend that you be fully aware of the particulars of your plan so you can utilize your benefits to the maximum.

Please understand that it is your responsibility to keep track of your appointments and we do everything we can to remind you of them in adequate time for you to make arrangements or changes for that appointment. And as a courtesy, we send out hygiene reminder cards to you about 3 weeks prior to a booked appointment and try to make confirmation calls 2 days prior to your appointment. Unfortunately, that is all we are able to do in order to remind you of upcoming appointments, after that it is up to you to remember.

Due to a continuous high demand in prime appointment times, we require a minimum of 48 hours notice per appointment should you require to reschedule your appointment. This is valuable time that the Doctor has reserved for you. In the case that insufficient notice is given a minimum $50.00 fee will be charged to you (based on the scheduled length of your appointment).
